Steven Meisel Captures Lexi Boling Through the Rear Window for Vogue Italia’s September Cover (Forum Buzz)

Vogue Italia managed to regain our attention last month by enlisting a series of brand new photographic talents. For September, it only seemed right for the mag to welcome back long-time collaborator Steven Meisel, who has unfortunately failed to deliver the goods this time around. Model Lexi Boling (her sixth Vogue Italia cover to date) wears Prada as she appears to be captured through a car window by the legendary lensman. The cover shot reminds us of Meisel’s New York City-based Fall 2015 campaign for Miu Miu

From the moment the cover surfaced, our forum members weren’t feeling it. “Is it me or does it look like this was taken out the back window of a car she was following? This is kinda awful,” immediately ranted Simera.

“Please be a fake cover,” prayed an underwhelmed SpeakThatJDunn.

Also hoping the cover was just a dream was GreyVetiver, writing, “I like Lexi but AGAIN?! I hope this is not the real cover… please.”

Urban Stylin certainly wasn’t admiring Vogue Italia’s latest offering either, exclaiming, “Terrible cover! The faded effect is beyond annoying.” Forum member lanvinray later described the cover as “absolutely atrocious!”

Sharing the same disappointing sentiments was littlekiki: “This concept is so tired. Fashion on the streets of New York with people walking by? A big yawn from me. Lexi does nothing for me here.”

“Those people passing by in the background…Imagine seeing yourself on the cover of Vogue! Most of them will probably never find out,” laughed Srdjan.

There is bound to be something for your tastes inside Italian Vogue‘s jam-packed September issue. Check out the contents and drop us a comment here.
